Favorite Pic of the Day for January 2nd

Another amazing shot, this time of Roberto by the talented Michael Angelo (see more below).

Photographer of the Day: Michael Angelo

I cannot tell you much about NY based photographer Michael Angelo (mr angelo) as he is hard to research. I can tell you that like another Michael Angelo, one without the a, this one is a true artist.

The first shot of Michael's that I saw was the one below. I was instantly drawn to the bananas. Not for the reasons you might think, or maybe exactly for the reason you might think. The vibrant yellow really is the center of the shot with the model almost serving as background. I knew I wanted to find out more about the photographer.

I was pleased to see this splash of color, often a piece of fruit, was a theme in much of Michael’s work. The detail in Michael's work is truly extraordinary and I was amazed at the level of excellence with composition, lighting and staging in shot after shot that I had the privilege to see and enjoy.

Michael's has a wonderful online portfolio I encourage you check out at his site HERE: Be sure to check out his series “Portrait of Cambodia,” which documents the country’s cultural and political landscape. It debuted in New York in 2007.

"Winter 2009, Michael will present “The Lipstick Portraits”. Subjects include actress Susan Sarandon, supermodel Veronica Verakova, tastemaker Simon Doonan, philanthropist Abigail Disney, and burlesque queen Dita von Teese."

Below: My favorite series of shots by Michael.

This series of shots touched a series of conflicting emotions in me. Sexy of course, but also a loneliness. It is also reminded me of the many science fiction movies where one man wakes up alone on the earth and how small we really are in the scheme of things.

Favorite Hunk of the Day: Ray Santiesteban

Tampa's Ray Santiesteban has been showing up on blogs and sites for awhile now. I only recently saw some of his shots and was really impressed with the strength of his work with some of my favorite photographers. Ray's recent work with David Arnot shows a leaner Ray but either way he is a natural in front of the camera. His adorable face and killer chest are just the beginning.

Ray is currently modeling in Florida and looking to pursue more work nationally in the industry seeing where it takes him. Ray ultimately hopes to move to the entertainment business, possibly acting. Ray exudes personality and charisma. He spents his spare time surfing, wakeboarding and traveling. Ray is also an avid weight trainer and enjoys spending time in the gym and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Ray has begun his own blog which although is just beginning is a great showcase for his work. You can check out his blog HERE:

Favorite Pic of the Day for January 1st 2010

Is there a better way to begin 2010 than with Israel Cassol by Sandro & Maykson.

Favorite Celebrity Butt Crack for the New Year:

Bradley Cooper.

Lists Lists Lists

New Years is a time for lists.

People make lists of resolutions, lists of the 10 best whatever and so on and so on. The following list puts together some of my favorite things about the blog and about the media the past year. I did not go beyond to world events and life and love. That, for another day. The are just a few of my favorite things from 2009.

Hope you all had a wonderful Holiday!
Tye

#12 Chris Pine

Crushes come and go.
This one has a firm grip!
Great movie too!

#11 Hillary Rodham Clinton

It is no secret I had hoped Hillary would have become the president. I like Obama, but thought and still do that Hillary might have been the one to cut through a lot crap and get things done quicker than Obama seems to be able to do...

That being said, I am glad the 12 months have put some distance between Clinton and the election. The woman fought hard and I am glad that as 2009 ends, Hillary is working hard at a difficult job and has moved beyond the election to once again command leadership and respect. (If you hate Clinton I am cool with that, no need to comment, :) just move on to 10)

#10 Sarah Palin's boys

The last presidential election was riveting to watch, but most elections do not provide much eye candy. Even with her loss (thank GOD!) Sarah Palin's men continue to provide some eye candy to an otherwise pretty sexless political process.

Track and Todd aside, when can you remember someone like Levi Johnston connected to something as big as the presidential election. I am tired of hearing about Levi, but I am not tired of seeing him. teen sex, teen babies, fights and playgirl magazine are not usually associated with politics. Levi has provided hours of material for the late night hosts and hours of enjoyment to others. Me thinks his 15 minutes are coming to end, but what a nice end it is.
